Menurutnya, pengesahan Qanun Nomor 3 Tahun 2013 tentang Bendera dan Lambang Aceh oleh DPRA dan Gubernur Aceh sesuai dengan amanah Undang-Undang Nomor 11 Tahun 2006 tentang Pemerintah Aceh, sebagai turunan MoU Helsinki.

Kementrian Dalam Negeri telah mengevaluasi Qanun Aceh nomor 3 tahun 2013. Hasilnya, Pemerintah tidak setuju penggunaan Bulan Bintang sebagai Bendera Aceh.

Informasi yang dikutip dari Metrotvnews.com menyebutkan, sejumlah ketentuan yang ada dalam Qanun Aceh tersebut diminta untuk direvisi.

Menurut Djohermansyah, penggunaan bendera bulan bintang betentangan dengan Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 77/2007 tentang Lambang Daerah.
Dalam pasal 6 ayat 4 dikatakan bahwa desain logo dan bendera daerah tidak boleh punya persamaan dengan desain logo bendera organisasi terlarang atau gerakan separatis. ”Lambang ini juga bertentangan dengan semangat MoU Helsinki,” tegasnya.
Selain itu lambang dan bendera itu bisa menimbulkan perpecahan di wilayah Aceh karena tidak mewakili seluruh golongan dan suku di Aceh. “Buatlah bendera yang lebih diterima seluruh kelompok yang ada di daerah itu. Lagi pula ini bukan lambang partai,” ujarnya.
